a quick look at anyone's profile shows their favorites include spongebob, disney movies, & jbeibs. i'm not saying i necessarily have those particular interests...*cough* jbeibs *cough*...but it does make me feel confident that i am free to be myself (unlike in high school) and SOMEONE out there is bound to identify. ergo: college will be my somewhat-neverland, where i never have to grow up...at least interest-wise :)
oooo look! we have mini bananas!
they're DE-LISH.
anyhoo...these new possibilities of college make me really happy...i mean like really REALLY happy. high school (& lower school...& middle school) sucked because i never felt like i could be myself. by the end my friends had pretty much pulled me out of it, but i still regret wasting the first 14 years of my life being shy & hiding who i really wanted to be for fear of people not liking it.
but that's over.
one thing that really helps me is to count my blessings...literally.
awhile back, i was trying to figure out what to write in my journal, so i started listing 5 things per day that i was thankful for or things that just make me happy. no repeating. no lazy, 1-word answers like: family, friends, cake...etc....unless i gave a good explanation.
so here we go:
1) reunions: even though it's only been a few weeks since graduation, i feel like i haven't seen my friends in years, so reunions with them are much appreciated
2) geico/dq commercials: face it...they're just hi-larious. & anything that makes me laugh that hard deserves to be on the list
4) foods that are smaller than they should be: see photo above
5) home decorating blogs: i've been feeling crafty lately & seeing before/after pictures reminds me that with a little faith, anything can be made new :)
thus ends my first crack at this little blogging experiment. i tend to start things like this then forget until i get bored 6 months later & come craaaaawling back...let's hope that's not the case here :)
